GSMOL/SCAMPR – Ellen Duke – the San Vicente Chapter 1316 had a great meeting. Judiciary committee passed AB1269, many thanks to those who wrote letters in support. It goes to Appropriations Committee next. Our Legislative Contact is Gary Champ with our Membership Chair Teri Champ, and Tony Armendariz is heading up the Document Review Committee. This committee will be ready to review papers when they come in and give to the attorney.
There was a conference call on July 11th for 1 hour to answer questions at $150.00 an hour. Owners can pass on property taxes to residents but we will wait and see concerning that. Rent increases which are allowed come with annual rent increase would take effect in 90 days. Water is included in rent even if not mentioned in your lease. Residents will be compensated in their rent for water, trash and sewage by reduction in base rent if you have to now pay an individual bill.
GSMOL attorney is ready to compare old VS new rental agreements when there are such leases to compare. We are hoping to obtain a copy of the income disclosure document discussed by St. Vincent’s during the April Meet and Greet.
Business:
New – Residents can always hire their own attorney if so wished.
New –Don Webb will contact Rosa or Rob to see when the new management takes over, date of expiration of lease on July 29th or later?
DPG – Whittier Fire In light of our current fire, maybe the block captains could walk and talk to their people advising of the emergency and make sure they have correct info. Link for fire info on our website is at svmha.com Also Public Information Line 805-699-6451. You can register your home phone to receive calls for emergency information at “awareandprepare.org”
Safety at Home for Seniors. Meeting July 20th at Rancho Santa Barbara. Please see attached email.
Brought to the Boards’ attention that unsupervised kids have been destroying the weight room. Chalk block was broken, shuffle board sticks are missing, many of the ping pong balls were flattened and it was witnessed some children were THROWING the cue balls from the pool tables around the room. Where is the resident who is supposed to be supervising these probable grandchildren???? Again, cameras were brought up. Please remind yourself that YOU the RESIDENT must ACCOMPANY YOUR guests to the pool/clubhouse during the correct guest hours of the pool. Don’t make someone have to remind you…… that’s embarrassing.
Please NO SPEEDING! in our park
Next HOA meeting will be August 10, 2017 at 7:00
Thank you for your support
Meeting adjourned at 8:13 PM
There’s a Saturday 2am Whittier Fire update on SBitZ.NET with information, links and photos.

The helicopter activity across Cathedral Oaks is in support of an effort to suppress a flare up of the Whittier Fire across the ridge. There’s no present danger to SVMHP, and there will be updates on SBitZ.NET for details and subsequent updates. You can also use the other links there for news.
Ed note: SVMHA Board President Bob Mann sent out the following email:
FYI. Please keep aware of the fire burning on San Marcos Pass.
Not much info as of yet. Check local news and edhat for information.
Thanks
Let’s be safe
Bob Mann
As we all look for the latest information about the nearby Whittier and Alamo fires, we want to let you know about a new website created by your SVMHA website creator. One of the best local sources has often been the Edhat.com site, but as you may know it is sometimes unavailable when demand is high. For this reason, the SBCitizen.com site was created. Later tonight and during the day, information from many sources will be posted there with links for further details. A good summary of general info is the local Google News you can find linked in the right column of most pages here.
